Maintenance

The maintenance schedule calls for tightening "cylinder head nuts, exhaust pipe bolts and muffler connections" at each interval. The last two are easy to do but the first one is quite involved. In order to torque the four 9mm head nuts, you must remove the cylinder head cover (that holds the rocker arms and provides the upper half of the support for the cam). This breaks the seal and must be resealed with "Suzuki Bond 1216". Additionally there are two 8mm under the front and rear of the cylinder head to tighten. There doesn’t appear to be any way to get a torque wrench on these two nuts.

I am interested in how others are performing this maintenance and what are the results? Is this a major concern for leaks? I wonder if the dealers are really performing this part of the service?
